SteppingStones lends a helping hand to the Humane Society FurBall

On Friday, April 8th a few animal-loving staffmembers from SteppingStones were delighted to donate their time to volunteer at the Cayman Islands Humane Society annual FurBall, held at the Marriott Hotel.

The aim of the event was to raise much needed funds to support the Humane Society shelter and all the work they do with Cayman cats and dogs, and guests were asked to “cough it up”.  The event was a huge success, not only selling out their 300 seats but overselling by 20 tickets.

Animal lovers from all over Cayman came to bid on silent auction, live auction, and raffle prizes.  During the evening, one of the volunteers was abducted by sword-wielding pirates who then donated their attendance at another event as another auction item.

“It was great to see so many turn out for the FurBall and while there was a lot of running around on the night, it was great fun and we really hope we raised lots of money,” said Lindsey, Bronwen, and Michelle.
