Overview: Living in and working in the Cayman Islands is a truly privileged way of life. Even your drive to work can be a pleasurable experience, enjoying sea views along the way, a far cry from the hustle and bustle of city living. Nearly half of the work-force in Grand Cayman is employed from overseas so you will get the opportunity to meet plenty of people who are also new to the Island.

The lifestyle in Cayman is extremely casual and outdoor oriented. Most establishments on Island welcome casual clothing, although shoes and shirts are always required. There are several high-end restaurants and events that will require slightly more formal attire, so it is a good idea to check when you call to make reservations or purchase a ticket.

Shopping: Despite being a small Caribbean Island, Grand Cayman offers many of the advantages of a large city. There are a number of shopping centers located around the Island from downtown George Town, along Seven Mile Beach, in West Bay and East End offering a variety of services and stores. The supermarkets in Cayman are comparable in size and style to those found in the US and UK, stocking a wide range of International foods catering to the many different nationalities living on Island.

For locally grown produce and products you should check out the local Farmer’s Market held at the Agricultural Grounds in Lower Valley. The market is open Saturday mornings from 7am – mid-day or at Camana Bay every Wednesday afternoon from mid-day -7pm.
