We all know that life is stressful, pretty much every aspect of it, from getting to work on time, meeting deadlines, juggling your family responsibilities and trying your best to get some “you” time. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, there are lots of things you can try; aromatherapy, yoga etc. But have you ever tried listening to music?
I am a qualified yoga teacher and a few months ago, one of my students shared the following article with me which I thought was very interesting. When teaching yoga, I typically like to play music as it’s a nice addition but scientists have found that certain songs can seriously reduce anxiety and stress! Up to 65% in some cases!
Coldplay and Adele are in the top 10 most relaxing songs; surprised? Me either.
So the next time you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious or stressed, and perhaps simply can’t stop what you’re doing, try listening to the suggested songs while cleaning the house or getting through the paperwork.
